Aqara D1 Smart Wall Switch (1-Key)

The Aqara D1 single-key wireless switch is a battery-powered Zigbee scene controller, not a mains-powered wall switch. Its single large key can be assigned to smart-home actions, making it useful for lighting, scenes and other automations without changing existing wiring.

This version communicates over Zigbee and therefore needs a compatible Zigbee gateway. The D1 wall-mounted wireless series uses model WXKG06LM for the single-key version. The switch is powered by a CR2032 coin cell and can be mounted where a conventional wall control would be convenient.

This D1 variant can be paired with compatible Mijia/Mi Home Zigbee gateways. Mi Home availability can depend on the gateway model and account region, so the switch should be paired through a compatible Xiaomi/Aqara Zigbee hub for the intended region.

Because this is the wireless D1 variant, it does not switch a mains circuit directly. It sends button events to the gateway, which then runs scenes or controls other smart devices. This distinction matters when choosing between the D1 wireless remote and wired D1 wall-switch versions.

Pair the control with the intended gateway before permanent mounting and confirm that the required button events appear in the selected Mi Home region. Zigbee scene switches rely on the gateway for automation logic, so they control other devices through configured scenes rather than through a direct electrical connection. Multi-packs contain independent switches; each unit is paired separately and can be assigned its own actions.

Once paired, the switch is best treated as a flexible scene input: assign actions that remain intuitive for the people using the room and label unusual functions if necessary. Because the control is wireless, it can be positioned independently of the load being controlled. Battery-powered remotes also remain electrically isolated from the lighting circuit, which is the main practical difference from wired wall switches.
