Aqara M1SWIRELESS M1S-Wireless switch

This Aqara wireless mini switch is a one-button Zigbee scene controller. The option is commonly labeled “M1S-Wireless switch” or M1SWIRELESS, but those labels should not be confused with a verified manufacturer model code.

The switch is wireless and is intended to send button events to a smart-home gateway rather than directly switch a mains load. Typical uses include triggering a lighting scene, arming an automation or controlling another connected device.

The switch is intended for Mi Home and HomeKit-compatible gateway setups. Because the device uses Zigbee, a compatible gateway is required, and actual Mi Home availability can depend on the gateway model and account region.

Exact battery, dimensions and manufacturer model should be checked on the device packaging because the M1S-like naming can otherwise be confused with Aqara’s M1S gateway product.

Pair the control with the intended gateway before permanent mounting and confirm that the required button events appear in the selected Mi Home region. Zigbee scene switches rely on the gateway for automation logic, so they control other devices through configured scenes rather than through a direct electrical connection. Multi-packs contain independent switches; each unit is paired separately and can be assigned its own actions.

Once paired, the switch is best treated as a flexible scene input: assign actions that remain intuitive for the people using the room and label unusual functions if necessary. Because the control is wireless, it can be positioned independently of the load being controlled. Battery-powered remotes also remain electrically isolated from the lighting circuit, which is the main practical difference from wired wall switches.
