Xiaomi no package

The Xiaomi Mi Window and Door Sensor detects whether a door, window, drawer or cabinet is open or closed. It uses a two-part design: a compact sensor body mounts on the fixed surface and a small magnet mounts on the moving part. When their relative position changes, the sensor can report the state change to the smart-home system.

This model is designed for Xiaomi Home / Mi Home and communicates over Zigbee. It does not connect directly to Wi-Fi; a compatible Xiaomi device with Zigbee gateway functionality, such as the Mi Smart Home Hub, is required. After the sensor is added through the hub, its open/closed state can be used in Mi Home automations—for example to turn on a light when a door opens or to trigger a security-related action.

The sensor is battery powered with a CR1632 cell and is intended for simple adhesive mounting. Xiaomi specifies that the main sensor and magnet should be aligned and that the gap between them should be less than 22 mm when the door or window is closed. Avoid mounting it on metal surfaces where possible, because metal can reduce wireless signal stability.

The main sensor measures 40.8 × 20.8 × 11 mm. Its specified operating range is -10°C to 50°C with 0–95% relative humidity, non-condensing.

The device corresponds to Xiaomi's Mi Window and Door Sensor model MCCGQ01LM. Its Zigbee design means the gateway is an essential part of normal Mi Home operation; the sensor is not a standalone Wi-Fi device.
